Artist's Description
On a trip to Iowa, I was surprised to find out that there are Bison in Iowa! Naturally, once I read about it, I had to visit the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge in Jasper County, IA. It was worth the trip. It is over 8,000 acres, beautiful fields, flowers, prairie and yes among the wildlife, Bison. We did not go in the season where we were able to see the other wildlife such as Elk, but it was worth driving through the refuge area to see a herd of Bison with this majestic bull trailing behind. And wasn't he just so kind as to pose in front of the sign?

It is my aim and desire through photography to bring glory to God. The journey that brought me here started with a Canon AE-1, my first "real" camera. Prior to that I was using instamatics from Kodak and any other camera I was able to get my hands on. I had taken the AE-1 from my Dad after seeing some pictures he had taken. My parents encouraged this new hobby by enrolling me, while I was still in High School, in a college photography course. That Christmas they bought me a new Canon AE-1P, this time it was programmable! This led to majoring in photography at Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
